Ukraine Calls for Stronger Air Defense as Intensified Russian Strikes Increase Civilian Risks

Ukraine has renewed its appeal for expanded international air defense support following another week of intense Russian aerial attacks involving drones, guided bombs, and missiles. Ukrainian officials say the scale and frequency of the strikes continue to place cities, critical infrastructure, and frontline communities under constant pressure, highlighting the urgent need for additional defensive capabilities.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the latest wave of attacks included thousands of strike drones, more than a thousand guided aerial bombs, and over one hundred missiles of various types. Officials noted that ballistic missiles remain one of the most difficult threats to counter because of their speed and flight characteristics, making advanced interception systems essential for protecting civilian populations.
