Ramsar Concept of Wise Use in the Context of Wetlands Conservation

Wetlands

Wet land is a land where there is a lot of moisture and the entire area is filled with water. It is found in coastal areas. It also includes rivers, ponds, canals, flood plains, swamps and other lands. Both land and water diversity is found in these areas. That is, aquatic animals are also present here and animals living on land are also present here. A combined form of grass and forest is seen here. It is considered a very important area from the environmental point of view. The beauty of nature is directly visible here. All these areas play an important role in environmental conservation, but in the present times, rapid industrialization and urbanization have had a negative impact on these lands. The first international effort for their conservation was made in 1971 in Ramsar, Iran, which was called the Ramsar Convention, which is known for the conservation of wetlands. If we have to maintain harmony with nature, then we will have to conserve such areas. Otherwise, the whole world will come under the grip of ever-increasing pollution and its serious consequences will be seen.  If we look at the present time, environmental pollution is increasing rapidly due to which many people are facing serious diseases. The direct evidence of this is lung infection, lung collapse as well as serious heart diseases and kidney and stomach are also affected by it. In the Ramsar conference, attention is paid to the species that are getting extinct and those whose number is continuously decreasing, all these aspects are also paid attention to. Its objective is to continuously conserve the environment and biodiversity. India and the countries with the most wetlands in the world play an important role in providing a good environment to the whole world. Therefore, it becomes very important that the entire citizen of the world should become aware and should make a significant contribution in environmental conservation. Along with this, a lot of contribution should also be made in the conservation of wetlands and biodiversity. This is an important part of our earth which is life-giving for us.
