The Ministry of National Defence (MND) of Taiwan has reported a surge in military activities by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) near the island. As of 6:00 am (UTC+8) on Thursday, 11 PLA aircraft and nine PLAN vessels were detected operating around Taiwan. The report highlighted heightened tensions in the region as five of these aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
