New Delhi, May 7, 2025 — In a strong and coordinated military action, India has launched “Operation Sindoor” in response to the recent terror assault in Jammu and Kashmir. The move signals India’s firm intent to counter terrorism with decisive force, striking directly at the roots of terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The operation follows the deadly attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians lost their lives in one of the deadliest strikes in recent years. In retaliation, Indian forces identified and neutralized nine terror training facilities operating across the border.

The details of the operation were shared in a high-level media briefing led by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. He was joined by senior military officials, including Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. They collectively outlined how preemptive intelligence and swift planning enabled Indian forces to precisely target active terror hubs.
Misri revealed that intelligence agencies had earlier warned of potential future threats, which fast-tracked the decision for immediate action. Operation Sindoor, he said, reflects the agility and preparedness of India’s defense forces in safeguarding national interests.
This mission has been hailed across the country as a justified and timely response. It not only sends a strong message to those sponsoring terrorism but also reinforces India’s position on cross-border security.
