New Delhi, June 21, 2025 – On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the global community to embrace a renewed vision for peace, unity, and collective wellbeing through yoga. Speaking on this significant occasion, the Prime Minister proposed the idea of “Yoga for Humanity 2.0,” a forward-looking initiative aimed at embedding yoga not only as a personal wellness practice but also as a foundational element of global public policy.

In his message, shared by PIB India, PM Modi emphasized that yoga must go beyond the mat. “Let this International Yoga Day mark the beginning of ‘Yoga for Humanity 2.0’, where inner peace becomes global policy,” he stated. The vision, he explained, is to adopt yoga as a global partnership tool—bridging divides and fostering holistic health in a world increasingly plagued by stress, conflict, and division.

Highlighting yoga’s transformative power, the Prime Minister underlined its potential in shaping a healthier, more inclusive world. “Yoga should not be limited to individual practice; it should evolve into a collective global mission where every country integrates it into daily life and public governance,” he asserted.

This year’s theme, reflected in hashtags like #YogaForOneEarthOneHealth, #IDY2025, and #YogaForAll, echoes the broader message of harmony between humanity and nature. The campaign envisions a future where yoga becomes a policy framework supporting mental health, environmental balance, and international cooperation.

As the world navigates complex challenges—from climate crises to public health emergencies—PM Modi’s proposal to globalize yoga through public policy could serve as a roadmap for a more resilient and peaceful planet.
