DRDO’s MCC Cluster Sparks New Era of Tech Collaboration with Indian Industry in Delhi

New Delhi, June 28, 2025 — In a remarkable effort to bridge defence research with industrial innovation, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) recently organized a high-impact Industry Interaction Meet under its Micro Electronic Devices, Computational Systems & Cyber Systems (MCC) Cluster. The event took place on June 27, 2025, at the Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), drawing representatives from over 52 companies and more than 100 industry experts.
The interaction meet aimed to strengthen the connection between indigenous research and practical industrial implementation, focusing on strategic technology domains vital for national advancement. The platform served as a catalyst for dialogue between DRDO scientists and private sector stakeholders to explore avenues for collaboration, co-development, and technology transfer.
Key Focus Areas Included:
Next-Generation Semiconductors: Advanced materials like Silicon Carbide (SiC), Gallium Nitride (GaN), Gallium Arsenide (GaAs), Germanium, and Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) were showcased for their relevance in high-performance electronics, especially in defence and aerospace systems.
Secure AI & IT Infrastructure: Emphasis was placed on developing dependable AI solutions and resilient IT systems capable of securing data and enabling operational efficiency across defence and civilian sectors.
AR/VR Technologies: The meet explored the growing use of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in defence training, product development, and immersive simulations, pointing towards their transformative role in future applications.
The event was instrumental in enabling face-to-face interactions, where industry participants could directly assess DRDO’s technological capabilities and express their own needs. This mutual exchange is expected to lead to concrete partnerships and the faster commercialization of indigenous innovations.
The MCC Cluster’s initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), enhancing domestic manufacturing and reducing dependency on foreign technology. DRDO’s proactive outreach reflects its strategic goal of empowering the private sector while scaling up its impact on national security and technological leadership.
This collaborative move is poised to accelerate innovation, support startups, and boost India’s position in high-end tech ecosystems globally.
