UNESCO Urges Global Action as Funding for Education, Culture, and Science Faces Major Decline
UNESCO has issued an urgent call to the international community following a steep decline in global aid for education, and inconsistent financial support for cultural and scientific sectors. According to UNESCO, recent trends show a worrying downturn in international funding for educational programs, along with significant disparities in the allocation of resources to cultural initiatives and scientific research. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, stressed the critical importance of these sectors, stating:
