Kyiv, August 7, 2025 — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy marked the anniversary of the Kursk Operation today by commending the courage and strategic brilliance of Ukraine’s armed forces. The military maneuver, conducted during a pivotal moment in Ukraine’s ongoing resistance against Russian aggression, is being remembered as a bold step that challenged widespread doubts.
Speaking during a national address, Zelenskyy recalled how the international community had begun to fear a prolonged deadlock in the war. “When many had started to believe that progress was no longer possible, we showed that Ukraine still knows how to take the right steps at the right time,” he said.
The Kursk Operation, launched during a critical phase of the conflict, dealt a significant blow to Russian forces and disrupted their logistical networks in the region. While operational specifics remain restricted, the move is now viewed as a key success that shifted both morale and momentum in Ukraine’s favor.
President Zelenskyy extended his gratitude to all those who contributed to the mission — from commanders to front-line soldiers. “To every soldier, sergeant, and officer who took part in this operation — thank you. Your actions reminded the world that Ukraine’s strength lies in the unity and determination of its people,” he stated.
He further emphasized that many threats issued by Moscow at the time were nothing more than intimidation tactics that failed to deter Ukrainian resolve.
As Ukraine continues its defense efforts, the legacy of the Kursk Operation stands as a powerful symbol of national resilience, military precision, and the enduring spirit of the Ukrainian people in the face of adversity.
