In a significant judicial announcement, President Donald Trump has nominated Rebecca Taibleson to serve as a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, representing Wisconsin.

Taibleson, a seasoned legal professional, currently serves as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. She previously held the role of Assistant to the United States Solicitor General, where she worked on high-level federal cases. Her distinguished career reflects years of experience in both trial and appellate advocacy.

President Trump praised her professional journey, highlighting her mentorship under some of the country’s most respected legal figures. Taibleson clerked for two United States Supreme Court Justices — Brett Kavanaugh and the late Antonin Scalia — experiences that the President said have shaped her deep understanding of constitutional law and judicial integrity.

The nomination, if confirmed by the Senate, would place Taibleson in a pivotal position to influence appellate rulings in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Supporters cite her strong commitment to the Constitution and her record of upholding the rule of law as reasons she is exceptionally qualified for the post.

“This is a well-earned recognition of Rebecca’s dedication to justice,” President Trump said in his statement. “She will be a fearless defender of our Constitution and a strong guardian of the law.”

The Senate confirmation process will determine whether Taibleson joins the appellate bench, where she would become part of a court known for its influential legal opinions.
