World Bank Approves $76.52 Million for Digital Transformation in Espírito Santo, Brazil

Brasília, August 2025 – The World Bank has confirmed a $76.52 million investment in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, aimed at upgrading digital public infrastructure and reshaping the delivery of government services.
The project focuses on creating a centralized digital portal where citizens will be able to access multiple public services through a single platform. This shift is expected to simplify administrative processes, cut down on bureaucracy, and provide faster, more transparent interactions between the government and the public.
Beyond the portal, the investment will also support improvements in broadband connectivity and modernization of state IT systems. By consolidating services digitally, authorities hope to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure that essential programs—such as health, education, and social assistance—are delivered more effectively.
Espírito Santo has been recognized as a leader in digital governance in Brazil, and this initiative is expected to further strengthen its position. Officials see the project as a model that could inspire similar transformations in other states across the country.
The World Bank underlined that the program is part of its broader strategy to use digital innovation as a driver of inclusive growth across Latin America. By enhancing access to government services and promoting digital inclusion, the initiative aims to narrow social gaps and improve the quality of life for citizens.
With this investment, Espírito Santo is set to enter a new phase of digital governance, demonstrating how technology can streamline public services while fostering accountability and long-term sustainable development.
