Zelenskyy Pushes for Stronger Global Action to End the War

Kyiv, August 2025 – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has renewed his call for greater international support to bring the war with Russia to an end. Speaking about the country’s daily engagement with its partners, Zelenskyy said that coordination and practical planning remain essential.
“Every day we work with our allies through meetings and negotiations. It is critical that everything is organized clearly – our ground, air, and naval forces must be precisely defined,” he explained.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine’s military strength is the foundation of its security and emphasized that sustaining this strength requires steady funding and reliable weapon deliveries. He thanked those nations already backing Ukraine’s armed forces and urged others to increase their commitments. “Our army is the core of our defense, and it needs long-term financing and weapon supplies. I appreciate every partner who is standing with us,” he said.
While assuring that Ukraine is preparing on all fronts, Zelenskyy stressed that the next steps depend on the resolve of international leaders. He pointed specifically to the role of the United States and other global powers in shaping the outcome of the war.
“Our readiness is absolute, but the world’s leaders must confirm their support. The key factor now is the will of countries, especially the United States, to put real pressure on Russia,” Zelenskyy said. “We need new actions – sanctions, tariffs, and all available measures should be considered.”
He concluded by reaffirming that Ukraine will do everything possible to restore peace but insisted that united, decisive international pressure is necessary to force Moscow to change course.
