Macron Condemns Russia’s Mass Strike on Ukraine, Calls Attacks “Terror and Barbarism”
French President Emmanuel Macron has strongly denounced Russia’s latest wave of strikes on Ukraine, calling the assault an act of “terror and barbarism.” According to Ukrainian authorities, 629 missiles and drones were launched in a single night, in what has been described as one of the most intense attacks since the start of the war.
The strikes killed more than a dozen civilians, including children, and left entire neighborhoods devastated. Residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, and international offices were deliberately targeted. Among the damaged sites were the European Union Delegation offices and the British Council, raising global concern over Moscow’s deliberate disregard for diplomatic institutions.
In a statement, Macron expressed France’s full solidarity with Ukraine and extended condolences to families mourning the loss of loved ones. “These senseless and cruel attacks must be condemned in the strongest possible terms,” he said, reaffirming France’s unwavering commitment to support Ukraine’s fight for sovereignty and security.
Macron’s condemnation comes as international outrage grows over Russia’s intensifying air campaigns, which have increasingly struck civilian areas. Western leaders have pledged to continue backing Ukraine with both humanitarian aid and military assistance, stressing that Russia’s strategy will not force the international community into silence or retreat.
