New Delhi, September 15, 2024: The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has expanded its efforts in promoting cleanliness and hygiene across the nation by continuing its nationwide Swachhata campaign under the Special Campaign 4.0 and Swachhata Hi Seva initiatives. This extensive campaign, spanning from December 2023 to August 2024, has seen significant achievements in improving workplace conditions and managing space.
During this period, the Ministry organized a total of 757 events, aimed at fostering a cleaner and more organized working environment. These efforts resulted in the disposal of 2982 files, freeing up 19.07 lakh square feet of space through effective scrap management. Additionally, the Ministry earned Rs. 69.37 crore from the sale of redundant materials, highlighting both the environmental and economic benefits of the campaign.
In the previous Special Campaign 3.0, the Ministry excelled in its cleanliness efforts, securing the 2nd position for space freed through scrap disposal by creating 21 lakh square feet of usable area, and the 5th position for revenue generation with Rs. 4.66 crore from the sale of obsolete materials.
Looking ahead, the Ministry is preparing for the upcoming Special Campaign 4.0, scheduled from October 2 to October 31, 2024. The Ministry, in collaboration with Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and Autonomous Bodies (ABs) under its purview, is finalizing locations and setting ambitious goals for this new phase.
Furthermore, the Ministry, along with its affiliated organizations, observed Swachhata Pakhwara from August 16 to August 31, 2024. This period involved various activities aimed at promoting a clean and healthy environment. Additionally, the Ministry is gearing up for the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, running from September 17 to October 1, 2024. This campaign will focus on cleaning identified areas with community participation to enhance public awareness about cleanliness and sanitation.
The Ministry’s ongoing commitment to improving environmental conditions and space management underscores its dedication to creating a healthier and more productive work environment while contributing to national cleanliness goals.
