Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking from his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, near Moscow, stated on Friday that while it is difficult to set a timeline for the end of the ongoing Ukraine conflict, he is certain that Russia will eventually prevail. Putin expressed gratitude for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic efforts, calling him a “friend” and acknowledging India’s balanced role in promoting a peaceful resolution.

Putin criticized Ukraine for backing out of earlier negotiations but reiterated that Russia remains open to peace talks. In addition to discussing geopolitical matters, the Russian President praised Indian cinema, particularly Bollywood, for its global cultural influence. He mentioned plans to discuss enhancing the presence of Indian cinema in Russia with PM Modi at the upcoming BRICS summit. The discussion would also explore cooperation in other industries, including automotive and pharmaceuticals.

“Cinema and the film industry are significant sectors of the economy that need proper regulation, and India has made important decisions to protect its market,” Putin added, signaling potential future collaborations between the two nations in the entertainment sector.
