Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024: Nationwide Tree Plantation Initiative Launched

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has organized a major tree plantation program this year under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. The primary aim of this initiative is to promote cleanliness and environmental conservation across the country. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, will inaugurate this campaign on September 17, 2024.

Event Organization

The event will be held at the Eastern Peripheral Expressway’s Duhai Interchange in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Union Ministers of State, Shri Ajay Tamta and Shri Harsh Malhotra, will also be present on this occasion. Additionally, the Secretary of the Ministry and senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) will participate in this important initiative.

Tree Plantation Drive

Under this program, the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A Tree in the Name of Mother) tree plantation campaign will be launched, which is expected to involve more than 30,000 participants from across the country. The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness about cleanliness and environmental conservation through tree plantation. This program will also mark the beginning of the Swachhata Pakhwada, highlighting our responsibility towards the environment.

Commitment to Environmental Conservation

Shri Nitin Gadkari will visit specially prepared bamboo and dense afforestation areas during this event. Regional offices of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), NHAI, and NHIDCL across the country will also take part in this tree plantation campaign, organizing tree plantation activities in their respective regions.
