“Neo”
Scientists claim that a neo protein can prevent bacteriophage infection.This protein will play an important role in the bacterial defense mechanism against massive infections especially bacteriophages. Neo means never ending open reading frame it can put the bacterial cell in a suspended state.This double-stranded cDNA generates messenger RNA which blocks its replication and thus also stops the replication of the invading bacteriophage. Where cDNA is complementary to RNA. Thus this specific neo protein stops the infection in its tracks.
