Accra, Ghana: Ghana’s police have detained 41 individuals following a targeted operation in the Lapaz and Chantan communities of Accra as authorities intensify efforts to investigate suspected criminal activities and the possible circulation of illegal narcotic substances.

The operation was conducted by the Ghana Police Service’s Special Operations Team around midday on October 15, 2026. Investigators focused on locations suspected of being connected to criminal activity and possible drug-related offences.

Police Recover Suspected Narcotic Substances

The operation resulted in the arrest of 35 men and six women, according to information released by the police. During searches of the individuals and locations covered by the operation, officers reportedly recovered quantities of dried leaves believed to be narcotic substances.
