Viksit Bharat @2047: PM Modi’s Blueprint for a New India

Recently leading the ninth Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a daring future vision for India. Attended by 20 States and 6 UTs, the conference was a turning point in the nation’s path towards third-largest economy in the world.

To reach the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, PM Modi underlined the importance of group work and cooperation between the Centre and States. From the 10th biggest economy in 2014 to the 5th largest in 2024, he underlined India’s consistent rise over the past ten years. The Prime Minister underlined that the confidence and enthusiasm of 140 crore people, the driving force behind the development of our nation, drove this increase.

The Prime Minister also revealed a number of important projects meant to propel progress. To draw investments, he gave NITI Aayog instructions to create a “investment-friendly Charter,” which would comprise policies, initiatives, and procedures meant to be followed. In order to maximise water resources, he also pushed for River Grids developed at the State level.

As the world sees India favourably for qualified human resources, PM Modi underlined the need of skilling and training of young to make them employment-ready. He pushed States to start demographic management plans to handle future population ageing and to create an investor-friendly climate.

Chief Ministers and Lt. Governors exchanged ideas and best practices for reaching Viksit Bharat @2047. In the fields of agriculture, education and skill development, entrepreneurship, drinking water, lowering compliances, governance, digitalisation, women empowerment, cyber security, etc., some of the main recommendations and best practices underlined were.

PM Modi gave NITI Aayog instructions to investigate State and UT recommendations generated at the conference. He thanked all the CMs and LGs for attending the conference and sharing their opinions and experiences; he also expressed hope that India would be moving in the direction of fulfilling the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 by means of cooperative federalism.

Ultimately, the 9th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog was a turning point in India’s path towards developed status. India is likely to reach the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047 and rank third among all countries with the combined effort and collaboration of the Centre and States.
