NASA Launches Europa Clipper Mission to Investigate Jupiter’s Icy Moon for Signs of Life

NASA successfully launched its Europa Clipper spacecraft from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, embarking on a groundbreaking mission to explore one of Jupiter’s most intriguing moons, Europa. The Europa Clipper spacecraft lifted off aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket under clear skies at Cape Canaveral. The solar-powered robotic probe will travel approximately 1.8 billion miles (2.9 billion kilometers) over the course of 5-1/2 years, eventually entering orbit around Jupiter in 2030.
