Chhattisgarh Leads the Way in Nationwide Effort to Stop Diarrhoea by 2025
Chhattisgarh is emerging as a frontrunner in the national mission to eliminate diarrhoeal diseases under the “Stop Diarrhoea 2025” campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. With a strong focus on both rural and urban outreach, the state has intensified its efforts through preventive care, public awareness initiatives, and timely treatment interventions.
The campaign aims to ensure that no child in India suffers or dies due to diarrhoeal diseases—a preventable yet widespread health issue, particularly among children under five. Chhattisgarh has mobilized local health departments, Anganwadi centers, ASHA workers, and medical professionals to conduct awareness drives, educational sessions, and health camps. These activities promote the importance of hygiene, safe drinking water, oral rehydration therapy (ORS), and timely medical attention.
