Rule And Structure of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup :

Format and Structure

  1. Group Stage:
    • The tournament features 20 teams divided into four groups of five each.
    • During the group stage, each team plays a minimum of four matches against other group members.
    • The top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8s stage.
    • The bottom three teams from each group are eliminated.
  2. Super 8s:
    • The remaining eight teams are split into two groups during this phase.
    • Each team plays three matches against their group rivals.
    • The table toppers from each Super 8s group proceed to the knockout stage.
  3. Knockout Stage:
    • The semi-finals feature the top two teams from each Super 8s group.
    • The winners of the semi-finals compete in the one-off final in Barbados on June 29.

Venues and Squads

  • Matches will be held across three venues in the USA and six in the Caribbean.
  • Teams have named preliminary squads, with unlimited changes allowed until May 25.
  • Reserve days are available only for the semi-final and final matches.
