Saudi Arabia Celebrates Indian Community Contributions Amid Global Harmony Initiative

In a significant acknowledgment of the Indian community’s impact in Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Abdulqader Al-Ghamdi, the Deputy Minister of Media, recently praised the contributions of the 20.6 million Indians residing in the kingdom. This recognition aligns with the launch of the ‘Global Harmony’ initiative by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Media, aimed at fostering cultural understanding and integration as part of the broader “Quality of Life” program, which is integral to the country’s Vision 2030 objectives.

The ‘Global Harmony’ initiative was unveiled during the Riyadh season, which commenced on October 13 and is set to last for 45 days. This vibrant event showcases the rich and diverse cultures of 11 countries, including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, and Egypt. The Riyadh season promises a plethora of activities, including concerts, cultural exhibitions, entertainment events, traditional foods, and various handicraft displays, all designed to celebrate and promote cultural exchange among nations.

Al-Ghamdi’s statement highlights the importance of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, which not only enhances the economic landscape but also enriches the cultural tapestry of the kingdom. The initiative aims to strengthen ties among different communities and foster an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
