Ghaziabad Police Arrest Three After Live-Firing Video Goes Viral
Police in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested three people after a video showing alleged gunfire in the Loni Border area circulated on social media. The incident has prompted a police investigation into a dispute reportedly linked to a piece of land near Sangam Vihar.

According to police, the confrontation took place after a dispute between two groups. Officials said stones were allegedly thrown and firearms were discharged during the clash. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, while police action and the arrest of three suspects were reported on September 23.
The circulation of the firing video brought additional attention to the case. Police registered a First Information Report and began investigating the circumstances that led to the confrontation.
Three Suspects Arrested
Police subsequently arrested three suspects allegedly connected with the incident. Investigators are examining their individual roles and the events that preceded the firing.
Officials said a pistol was recovered from the suspects along with nine empty cartridges and two live cartridges. Sections of the Arms Act have also been added to the case, according to the police information reported by Hindustan Times.
The recovery of ammunition is expected to form an important part of the investigation as officers work to determine whether the recovered firearm was used during the confrontation.
Land Dispute Under Investigation
The immediate trigger for the confrontation is reportedly connected to a disputed plot of land near Sangam Vihar in the Loni Border area.
Land-related disputes can sometimes develop into confrontations between rival groups, particularly when multiple parties claim rights over the same property. In this case, however, investigators will need to establish the precise circumstances and determine the individual responsibility of each person involved.
Police are expected to question the arrested suspects and other people who may have witnessed the incident.
Social Media Video Draws Attention
The alleged firing video became an important element in bringing the incident to wider public attention. Videos of criminal incidents can sometimes provide investigators with additional leads, although police must independently verify what is shown and establish when and where the recording was made.
Investigators may compare the video with witness statements and physical evidence recovered from the scene.
The presence of empty and live cartridges, along with the recovered pistol, could also help police reconstruct what happened during the confrontation.
Police Investigation Continues
The investigation remains ongoing. Police are expected to examine the background of the dispute, identify everyone who participated in the confrontation and determine whether additional offences occurred during the incident.
Authorities are also likely to verify whether anyone was injured and assess the extent of property damage or other consequences resulting from the clash.
Officials have not indicated that the investigation is complete, and further legal action could follow as additional evidence is examined.
The case highlights how a local property dispute can escalate into a serious law-and-order incident when firearms are allegedly introduced into the confrontation. For investigators, the immediate priority is to establish the complete sequence of events and determine what happened before, during and after the reported firing.
Police have registered the case and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
