Egypt and Qatar Condemn Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Call for Urgent De-Escalation
Egypt and Qatar have jointly condemned attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and called for an immediate end to hostile actions, stressing the importance of diplomatic efforts to prevent further instability across the Middle East.

The position was conveyed during a telephone conversation on October 15, 2026, between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
According to the Egyptian government’s announcement, the two officials expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and discussed regional developments amid growing security concerns. They emphasised the need for coordinated efforts to reduce tensions and prevent the crisis from spreading to other parts of the region.
Diplomatic Coordination Takes Centre Stage
The conversation reflected continued communication between Cairo and Doha on regional security and issues of mutual interest. Both ministers also reviewed bilateral relations, including cooperation in several fields and the exchange of high-level visits.
They welcomed progress in relations between their countries and reaffirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation further.
The discussion highlighted the importance of maintaining diplomatic channels at a time when security developments are creating fresh challenges for governments across the Middle East.
Calls to Prevent a Wider Regional Crisis
Egypt and Qatar stressed that ongoing efforts should focus on easing tensions and preventing further escalation. They called for political and diplomatic initiatives capable of addressing the crisis while protecting regional security and stability.
Their joint position underlines concern that continued hostilities could increase uncertainty across the region and complicate efforts to resolve existing disputes.
The two countries’ appeal also places renewed emphasis on dialogue and coordination among regional governments as they respond to security threats.
Saudi Security and Regional Stability
Saudi Arabia’s security has become a central issue in regional diplomatic discussions following recent attacks. Egypt has previously expressed strong support for the kingdom, while the latest conversation with Qatar reinforced the two governments’ shared call for restraint.
The October discussion did not announce a new military deployment or a specific enforcement mechanism. Instead, the publicly reported message focused on solidarity, diplomatic coordination and efforts to stop further hostile actions.
As regional governments continue consultations, the effectiveness of diplomatic initiatives will be important in determining whether tensions can be contained and a broader escalation avoided.
