Kyiv endured its third consecutive night of drone attacks, as debris from downed Russian drones sparked fires across parks and grassy areas, Ukrainian officials reported on Monday. The intensified assault on the Ukrainian capital has continued to strain the city’s emergency response resources and keep residents on high alert.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the incidents through a statement on Telegram, stating, “Emergency crews have been dispatched.” The drone wreckage ignited a fire in Muromets Park, located in the Desnianskyi district in the northeastern part of the city, and set surrounding grass ablaze on the embankment of the Dnipro River directly across from the park.

So far, no information has been released about any potential injuries resulting from the fires or drone fragments, but emergency responders remain on-site to assess and contain the damage.

The night was punctuated by explosions, as air defense units appeared to intercept some of the incoming drones, according to witnesses on the ground. Sunday’s drone attacks had already damaged buildings and disrupted power infrastructure in Kyiv, underscoring the city’s vulnerability amid sustained aerial bombardment.

Elsewhere, the northeastern city of Kharkiv experienced further Russian strikes, including a late-night guided bomb attack on Sunday, which left multiple civilians injured. Ukrainian officials continue to respond to the unrelenting assaults, as Russia’s strategy shifts increasingly toward repeated night-time strikes aimed at destabilizing urban centers and disrupting civilian life in Ukraine.
