CBI Court Imposes 3-5 Year Sentences and Fines on 15 Individuals in Bank Fraud Case
A special CBI court in Ahmedabad has sentenced 15 individuals, including Becharbhai Ganeshbhai Zala, the former Branch Manager of the State Bank of Saurashtra at Naroda Road, in connection with a major bank fraud. The court sentenced the accused to prison terms ranging from 3 to 5 years, while also imposing financial penalties totaling Rs 15.35 lakh.
The convicted group consists of Zala, who had served as the manager of the bank branch, and 14 other private individuals who were involved in the fraudulent activities. The case was thoroughly investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), leading to the court’s decision on Saturday.
This conviction marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts by the CBI to combat corruption and financial crime in the banking sector, ensuring that those responsible for such offenses face appropriate legal consequences.
