IAEA Lise Meitner Programme Heads to France for Advanced Nuclear Leadership Training

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Lise Meitner Programme is set to take place in France this year, marking another major step in strengthening global expertise in nuclear project management and international cooperation in the energy sector.
Scheduled from 22 November to 4 December, the programme will be hosted by the Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA) and the ITER Organization. The initiative will bring together a new cohort of participants for an intensive two-week training focused on managing complex nuclear projects in a multinational environment.
The Lise Meitner Programme is designed to develop the next generation of leaders in nuclear science, engineering, and policy. It emphasizes not only technical competence but also international collaboration, regulatory understanding, and project coordination across borders—skills increasingly essential in large-scale nuclear infrastructure development.
Participants will gain exposure to real-world challenges in nuclear project execution, including safety standards, stakeholder coordination, and advanced energy system planning. By engaging with leading institutions in France, attendees will also benefit from insights into some of the world’s most advanced nuclear research and fusion energy initiatives.
The programme reflects the IAEA’s broader mission to promote safe, secure, and peaceful use of nuclear technology worldwide while building a strong global network of trained professionals capable of supporting future energy transitions.
