Ukraine Calls for Domestic Patriot Missile Production Amid Continued Missile Threats

Ukraine has renewed its appeal for expanded air defense cooperation with international partners, emphasizing the urgent need for additional anti-ballistic missile capabilities and the eventual domestic production of advanced air defense systems. The call comes as Russian missile and drone attacks continue to threaten cities and civilian infrastructure across the country.

Ukrainian officials argue that while international military assistance has significantly strengthened the nation’s defensive capabilities, the scale and frequency of missile attacks require a more sustainable, long-term solution.

Demand for More Patriot Systems

Central to Ukraine’s appeal is the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system, widely regarded as one of the world’s most effective platforms for intercepting ballistic missiles and advanced aerial threats.
