Nation Remembers Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas

On the solemn occasion of the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas, India paid heartfelt tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a symbol of social justice. President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in honoring his legacy with a floral tribute in Bhubaneswar. Speaking through a social media post, she described Dr. Ambedkar as a towering figure whose contributions have laid the foundation for an inclusive and equitable India.

In the capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage at the Parliament House Lawns. Reflecting on Dr. Ambedkar’s life and work, the Prime Minister stated that his fight for equality and dignity remains a guiding light for future generations. In a message shared online, PM Modi emphasized the enduring importance of Babasaheb’s vision, reiterating his government’s commitment to realizing the ideals enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The post also included a personal touch, featuring a photograph from PM Modi’s earlier visit to Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai, a place of reverence associated with Dr. Ambedkar.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, former President Ram Nath Kovind, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid their respects at the Parliament House Lawns. Their participation underscored the universal admiration and respect for Ambedkar’s contributions, transcending political affiliations.

Mahaparinirvan Diwas, observed annually on December 6, marks the passing of Dr. Ambedkar in 1956.
