Devin Nunes Appointed Chairman of President’s Intelligence Advisory Board by Trump
Donald Trump, the US President-elect, has named Devin Nunes, CEO of Truth Social, as the new Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board (PIAB). This strategic appointment underscores Nunes’ deep background in intelligence matters and his notable contributions during his time in Congress, particularly as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump outlined Nunes’ qualifications, emphasizing his previous role in investigating Russian interference in the 2016 US elections. Trump referred to Nunes’ efforts in addressing the controversy around the “Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax,” highlighting how these experiences make him an ideal choice for this advisory position.
The President-elect further explained that Nunes would continue his leadership at Trump Media & Technology Group, which owns Truth Social, while also advising on intelligence matters. Nunes’ primary responsibility will be to offer independent evaluations of the effectiveness and ethical standards of US intelligence operations, providing vital oversight for the Intelligence Community.
Trump’s post noted that the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board is composed of distinguished individuals outside the federal government, ensuring that Nunes’ assessments will be free from bureaucratic constraints. This move reflects Trump’s commitment to enhancing the transparency and accountability of the US intelligence agencies during his administration.
