U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson Visits Shiloh with Israeli PM Netanyahu

In a symbolic visit that highlighted deepening U.S.-Israel relations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and his delegation to the historic town of Shiloh, located in Samaria. Accompanied by their spouses, the leaders toured the biblical site, emphasizing shared heritage and mutual support.
The American delegation included U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, along with congressional representatives Michael McCaul, Claudia Tenney, Michael Cloud, and Nathaniel Moran. The group was warmly received by Israel Gantz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council.
Talks between Netanyahu and Johnson centered on regional security, defense partnerships, and the urgent matter of Israeli hostages. A poignant moment occurred during their meeting with Ditsa Or, whose son Avinatan is currently held captive. Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s commitment to securing the safe return of all hostages.
The stop in Shiloh was not just political—it carried symbolic weight. The ancient city, once a center of Israelite worship, was chosen to underline American support for Israel’s cultural and historical connection to Judea and Samaria.
Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked the U.S. lawmakers for their bipartisan backing, particularly in challenging times. Speaker Johnson echoed the sentiment, reaffirming America’s stance as a steadfast ally of Israel.
The visit concluded with calls for continued cooperation in promoting peace and ensuring stability across the region.
