Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri Resumes ‘Sanatan Yatra’ After Health Scare Near Haryana-UP Border

Mathura, November 13, 2025 — Spiritual leader Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham has resumed his much-publicized ‘Sanatan Yatra’ after a brief health scare near the Haryana-Uttar Pradesh border. The incident raised concern among his followers but did not deter him from continuing his pilgrimage dedicated to spreading the message of Sanatan Dharma.
Sudden Health Setback During Journey
As per eyewitness accounts, Shastri reportedly experienced dizziness and collapsed while traveling toward Mathura. Devotees accompanying him rushed to provide assistance, helping him to rest by the roadside. After consuming a simple meal of achar-paratha (pickle and flatbread), his condition stabilized, allowing him to continue the journey.
This health episode came just a day after he was treated for a bout of fever. Doctors had earlier examined him and advised rest, but Shastri chose to carry forward his pilgrimage, reflecting his commitment to the ongoing religious campaign.
The 55-Kilometer Pilgrimage Under Tight Security
The Sanatan Yatra spans approximately 55 kilometers and is expected to reach Mathura within four days. Given Shastri’s prominence and the growing number of devotees joining the route, the local administration has stepped up security measures. SSP Anuj Chaudhary is personally supervising the arrangements, ensuring that the event proceeds smoothly and safely.
Barricades, medical checkpoints, and police patrols have been established along the route. Authorities are also coordinating with local volunteers to manage large crowds expected at various halts during the journey.
Controversial Remark Sparks Debate
During one of his public addresses along the route, Shastri made a controversial statement referencing the recent terrorist attack in Delhi, linking it to communal tensions. He remarked that India needs “a pillar and a weapon, not a Dr. Mullah,” to protect Hindus from targeted violence. His comments quickly drew mixed reactions — with supporters praising his boldness, while critics accused him of making divisive remarks.
Despite the controversy, Shastri has continued his Yatra, receiving massive public turnout at each stop. Devotees have expressed relief over his recovery and appreciation for his unwavering determination to complete the pilgrimage.
Message of the Sanatan Yatra
According to organizers, the primary goal of the Sanatan Yatra is to promote unity, moral values, and awareness about the essence of Sanatan Dharma. The pilgrimage also aims to encourage youth participation in spiritual and cultural revival movements across India.
As Dhirendra Shastri advances toward Mathura, his health and statements remain closely watched — both by his followers and the wider public. For now, the Bageshwar Dham spiritual leader continues his mission, undeterred by physical strain or controversy, carrying forward his message of faith and cultural pride.
