Ukraine’s leadership convened a high-level staff meeting to address the growing destabilization caused by the ongoing war in Iran and the broader implications for global markets, regional security, and support to Ukraine against Russian aggression. Officials noted that developments in the Middle East and Gulf region directly impact Europe, Ukraine, and international supply chains, highlighting the interconnected nature of modern security challenges.

Briefings were delivered by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, heads of intelligence agencies, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Defense. Discussions focused on the prospects of the Iranian conflict, potential scenarios if the war continues, and the specific requests from neighboring countries, European allies, and the United States for security support against “shahed” drones and related threats.

Ukraine confirmed that there are currently 11 formal requests from international partners seeking expertise in life protection, drone interception, electronic warfare systems, and operational training. Kyiv has indicated readiness to provide assistance to those supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, with some requests already fulfilled through concrete measures.

The National Security and Defense Council, in coordination with the General Staff and Defense Forces, will evaluate additional requests while ensuring Ukraine’s own defense capabilities remain uncompromised. The overarching priority is clear: prevent the Iranian regime from gaining an advantage over defenders of life and stability, and coordinate globally to stabilize both regional security and international markets.

Officials also stressed the importance of joint defense initiatives, including shared strategies against drones and missiles and targeted actions against production facilities responsible for aggressive weapons. The meeting underscored that Iran and Russia maintain mutual support, with emerging evidence of Russian components in “shahed” drones striking neighboring countries.

Ukraine reaffirmed that the international community must act decisively to prevent further destabilization. “The world is stronger than any actors trying to undermine it,” the statement emphasized, calling on all partners to respond with determination and cooperation.

This meeting signals Ukraine’s commitment to regional and global security while maintaining a robust defensive posture and supporting allies in countering shared threats.
