Ukraine Remains Ready for Talks as Negotiations With U.S. Are Delayed

Ukrainian leadership has held a strategic meeting with the country’s negotiating team to review the current status of diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war with Russia. Officials emphasized that maintaining constant communication with the United States remains a top priority, with Ukrainian representatives staying in contact with American counterparts almost continuously.
According to the meeting’s summary, a previously planned negotiation session scheduled for this week has been postponed at the request of the United States. The delay comes as Washington and its partners shift their immediate focus toward developments surrounding the conflict involving Iran. Despite the change in schedule, Ukraine has reaffirmed that it is ready to meet at any moment in any format that could realistically contribute to ending the war.
During the internal discussions, Ukraine’s negotiating team also presented intelligence-based assessments regarding Russia’s potential plans and strategies. These insights, largely provided by national intelligence services, are helping Kyiv shape its diplomatic and security approach moving forward.
Ukrainian leadership instructed the delegation to reconnect with American negotiators to reiterate two key messages. First, Ukraine is prepared to engage in strategic cooperation on security, particularly in strengthening defenses against strike drones and similar threats. Second, the country remains committed to serious, results-oriented negotiations aimed at bringing an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Officials stressed that while international attention may temporarily shift due to global events, Ukraine’s position remains unchanged: the country is ready to pursue practical diplomatic solutions that could lead to peace while continuing to defend its sovereignty and security.
