Dubai Police Arrest Six Suspects in Fake Online Shopping Website Scam
Dubai, UAE — October 28, 2026
Dubai Police have arrested six suspects accused of operating a fraudulent online shopping website that allegedly stole bank card details and drained money from customers’ accounts.

According to reports published on October 23, the investigation began after victims complained about unexpected deductions from their bank accounts. One woman reportedly discovered that savings she had accumulated over several years had been taken without her authorisation.
How the Alleged Scam Worked
Investigators said the suspects allegedly created a fake shopping website designed to collect customers’ bank card information. The stolen details were then reportedly used to make unauthorised purchases and transfer money into digital wallets and bank accounts.
Police also alleged that some compromised card details were sold to other fraudsters, potentially exposing additional victims to financial losses.
The group, reportedly referred to as the “Unexpected Deduction” gang, was traced following an investigation involving surveillance and other investigative work. Police arrested the six suspects during a coordinated operation and recovered bank cards belonging to victims, along with cheque books.
Police Warn Online Shoppers
Dubai Police have urged residents to verify websites before entering payment information, monitor bank statements regularly, and report suspicious transactions promptly.
Authorities say public awareness and early reporting are important in helping investigators detect online fraud and protect consumers from financial crime.
The six individuals are suspects, and the allegations should not be treated as proof of guilt.
