Under the direction of Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, a comprehensive Grievance Redressal Day was organized on Saturday, 28 February 2026, across all police stations in the city. The initiative was conducted under the supervision of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) to ensure smooth coordination and effective response to citizens’ concerns.

The special day was aimed at enhancing transparency, improving communication between citizens and law enforcement, and resolving pending complaints in a time-bound manner. Senior officials, including Additional Commissioners of Police (Addl. CPs) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), personally visited various police stations to review cases and provide guidance to officers on handling public grievances efficiently.

Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and Senior Police Inspectors played an active role by directly interacting with complainants. They carefully reviewed registered cases and reported crimes, addressed concerns raised by citizens, and ensured that necessary action was initiated wherever required. The presence of senior leadership at police stations reflected the department’s commitment to accountability and public service.

Officials emphasized that such grievance redressal drives are an important step toward building stronger community relationships and maintaining law and order effectively. By listening directly to citizens, the police aim to identify gaps, resolve misunderstandings, and deliver quicker justice.

In matters concerning crimes against women, the police reiterated the importance of immediate reporting. Citizens are encouraged to contact the women’s helpline number 1090 or dial 100/112 in case of emergencies. Authorities assured that every complaint related to women’s safety would be treated with utmost seriousness and sensitivity.

The citywide initiative highlights Mumbai Police’s continued efforts to promote citizen-centric policing and ensure that every individual’s voice is heard and acted upon promptly.
