India’s education system is steadily embracing digital transformation as part of the reforms introduced under National Education Policy 2020. The policy emphasizes integrating technology into classrooms to create interactive learning environments and equip students with future-ready skills.

One of the key initiatives supporting this transformation is Vidyanjali, a program that encourages community participation and institutional support to improve school infrastructure and learning resources. Through this initiative, schools across the country are being equipped with smart classrooms, information and communication technology (ICT) laboratories, and modern digital tools.

A notable example of this effort can be seen at Composite School Hoshiyarpur in Greater Noida, located in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The school has recently received support under the Vidyanjali initiative to establish a Coding and ICT Lab designed to introduce students to modern technology.

The newly developed lab includes computer systems, coding learning platforms, and tinkering equipment that allow students to experiment with practical applications of technology. Facilities such as 3D printing, laser printing, and electronic and electrical components are also available to encourage hands-on learning experiences.

Students can work with microprocessors and microcontrollers, giving them early exposure to concepts in electronics, robotics, and programming. These tools help them understand how digital systems function while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

Educators believe that such facilities can significantly enhance students’ understanding of emerging technologies. By learning coding, electronics, and digital design at an early stage, students can build strong foundations for careers in science, engineering, and technology.

The initiative also reflects the broader goals of the Government of India to modernize the education sector and promote digital literacy among young learners. Partnerships with organizations and community contributors under the Vidyanjali program further strengthen schools by providing resources that might otherwise be difficult to obtain.

Through projects like the Coding and ICT Lab in Hoshiyarpur, the vision of NEP 2020—creating innovative, technology-driven classrooms—is gradually becoming a reality. Such initiatives are helping students in government schools gain access to advanced learning tools, preparing them for a rapidly evolving digital future.
