International Day Against Drug Abuse

Bilaspur: In a significant step toward promoting a healthier and drug-free society, the Bilaspur district administration has announced a ten-day public awareness campaign under the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Scheduled from June 17 to June 26, the initiative aims to educate citizens about the dangers of substance abuse and encourage community participation in building a safer future. The campaign will be organized under the theme "Identity of Developed India", emphasizing the connection between social well-being and national progress. The activities will culminate on June 26, which is observed globally as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. District officials have planned a series of awareness programs that will engage people from different sections of society. Educational institutions, government departments, social organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) will collaborate to conduct events designed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction and the importance of prevention. Schools and colleges are expected to play a major role in the initiative by organizing seminars, debates, rallies, cultural performances, poster-making competitions, and interactive sessions. These activities will focus on educating young people about making informed choices and resisting substance abuse.
