Businessman Survives Shooting Attempt as Police Arrest Suspect in Quezon City
A businessman escaped injury after an alleged shooting attempt in Quezon City, while police arrested one suspect and launched a search for another person believed to have been involved.

The incident occurred along Sauyo Road in Barangay Bagbag. Police officers from the Quezon City Police District’s Talipapa Station responded after hearing a gunshot at around 8:30 p.m.
According to the police report, the businessman confronted two men who were reportedly sitting on a blue Honda Click motorcycle near his establishment. One of the men allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired at him.
The shot missed the businessman. The suspects then attempted to escape from the area on the motorcycle.
Responding police officers intercepted one of the suspects shortly afterward. Authorities identified the 25-year-old suspect by the alias “Mark” and recovered a Taurus handgun loaded with two live rounds during the operation. Police also reportedly seized around 24 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of 163,200 Philippine pesos.
Police said a background check indicated that the arrested suspect had previously faced charges involving robbery and violations of the Philippines’ Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Investigators are now preparing cases against the suspect in connection with the shooting. The reported complaints include attempted homicide, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of illegal drugs.
Authorities have also launched a manhunt for the second suspect, who reportedly escaped on foot after the incident.
The case remains under investigation as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting and determine whether the suspects were connected to other criminal activities in the area.
The incident has also prompted renewed attention to security concerns in parts of Quezon City, particularly around commercial areas where business owners and residents may become targets of armed confrontations.
Police have urged members of the public with information about the second suspect or the incident to cooperate with investigators.
