Sri Lanka’s Chase Collapses
Sri Lanka needed 356 runs to win but struggled from the beginning of their chase.

Liam Dawson Leads Bowling Attack
Liam Dawson was England’s leading wicket-taker, finishing with 3/26 from eight overs.
Gus Atkinson claimed two wickets, while several other England bowlers also contributed to the collapse. Six of England’s seven bowlers used during the innings took at least one wicket.
Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis was his team’s highest scorer with 36, but the visitors never came close to challenging England’s target.
England Win Series 2-1
The victory gave England a 2-1 series win after the three-match contest.
England won the opening ODI by 89 runs, Sri Lanka responded with a 16-run victory in the second match, and the series was ultimately decided at The Oval.
Banton’s Breakthrough Performance
Banton’s century was the defining moment of the match.
His 126-run innings provided the foundation for England’s huge total and earned him the Player of the Match award. Will Jacks was named Player of the Series.
The result also completed a successful limited-overs period for England, with the team continuing to develop its ODI combination ahead of future international assignments.
