Idaho Authorities Continue Investigation Into Fatal Shooting in Lincoln
Authorities in eastern Idaho are continuing an investigation after a man died during an officer-involved shooting on Badger Creek Road in Lincoln.

According to investigators, deputies were called to a residence shortly before 6 a.m. Friday after receiving a report from a man who said he was armed and intended to take his own life. Deputies arrived and began working to evacuate the home.
During the response, the man came outside carrying a firearm. Shots were then fired, and the man was injured. Deputies immediately provided emergency medical assistance until an ambulance crew arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured.
Because the shooting involved law-enforcement officers, an independent investigation has been launched. The East Idaho Critical Incident Task Force was activated, with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office taking the lead.
Idaho State Police, the Idaho Falls Police Department and other regional agencies are assisting with the investigation. Their work will include examining the scene, reviewing evidence and determining the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Authorities said there is no continuing threat to the public connected with the incident.
The investigation remains active, and officials are expected to release additional information as investigators establish a complete account of what occurred.
