Police in Greece are investigating an early-morning gunfire incident outside a beach bar in Anavyssos, a coastal town southeast of Athens.

Authorities were alerted at around 5:15 a.m. after reports of gunshots in the area. Officers who arrived at the location found two shell casings and traces of blood near the scene.

Investigators are now working to establish what led to the shooting and whether anyone was injured during the incident. At the time of the initial report, authorities had not announced any arrests.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, when the coastal area would normally have been quieter following Saturday night’s activity. Police are examining evidence from the location as part of their efforts to reconstruct what happened.

The discovery of blood has added another element to the investigation, although authorities have not immediately confirmed whether it was connected to an injured person involved in the shooting.

Investigators are expected to examine the surrounding area and gather information that could help identify those involved. Witness accounts and any available surveillance footage could also prove important in determining the sequence of events.

Anavyssos is located along the Athenian Riviera and attracts residents and visitors to its coastal establishments, particularly during the warmer months. Incidents involving firearms in such locations can raise immediate concerns about public safety.

Police have not yet released a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding the gunfire. Authorities are continuing their investigation before drawing conclusions about the motive or the identities of those involved.

The case remains under investigation, with further information expected as police establish whether anyone was wounded and determine what prompted the shooting.
