Türkiye and Indonesia Strengthen Economic and Trade Cooperation
ANKARA — Türkiye and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic cooperation, with both sides focusing on trade, investment, energy, industry and new technology.

The discussions took place during high-level meetings between Turkish and Indonesian officials as the two countries work to deepen their strategic partnership.
A major objective is to increase bilateral trade and create better opportunities for companies from both countries. Officials are encouraging businesses to explore new partnerships in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy and technology.
Energy cooperation is another important area. Türkiye and Indonesia see opportunities to expand collaboration in energy investment and related technologies while supporting their wider economic development goals.
The two countries are also interested in strengthening cooperation in defence-related industries. Turkish and Indonesian companies have already developed commercial relationships in the sector, and officials are exploring additional opportunities for joint production and technology cooperation.
Digital technology and innovation are emerging areas of interest as well. Both governments want to encourage cooperation between technology companies, research institutions and entrepreneurs.
Investment is expected to play an important role in expanding the relationship. Türkiye is seeking greater Indonesian investment, while Turkish companies are looking at opportunities in Indonesia’s large and growing market.
Infrastructure development is another potential area for cooperation. Turkish businesses have experience in construction and engineering projects, while Indonesia is undertaking major infrastructure development programmes.
Officials also discussed tourism and cultural exchanges, which can contribute to closer relations between the two populations and create additional economic opportunities.
The partnership is part of Türkiye’s broader effort to strengthen economic relationships with countries in Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
For Indonesia, stronger economic ties with Türkiye can provide access to European and Middle Eastern markets while creating additional opportunities for investment and industrial cooperation.
Both countries have expressed interest in expanding institutional dialogue and encouraging their private sectors to play a greater role in bilateral economic relations.
The latest discussions demonstrate that Ankara and Jakarta are seeking to move their relationship beyond traditional diplomatic cooperation and toward broader commercial and technological partnerships.
As trade and investment links develop, businesses in both countries could gain new opportunities across manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, technology and other strategic sectors.
