Two Men Charged Over Alleged Terror Plot Targeting Manchester Jewish Community
Two men have been charged with terrorism offences following an investigation into an alleged plot targeting the Jewish community in the Manchester area, British police have announced.

The two suspects, identified as 36-year-old Salam Ahmadyan of Liverpool and 34-year-old Rahman Salehi of Salford, were arrested in Manchester during a counter-terrorism investigation.
According to police, both men were charged with engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. The charges relate to an alleged plan to target members of the Jewish community in the Manchester area.
Police said the investigation involved Counter Terrorism Policing and cooperation with Britain’s security services. Authorities allege that the two men were in contact with an overseas third party who may be located in Iran.
The arrests were made on September 20, while the terrorism charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service on October 2. Both suspects were remanded in custody and were scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Authorities have stressed that the allegations remain matters for the courts. The suspects are entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until their guilt is established through the legal process.
The investigation is continuing as counter-terrorism officers examine the alleged contacts, communications and preparations surrounding the suspected plot.
Police have also been working to establish whether anyone else may have been involved and whether the alleged overseas contact played a direct role in the reported activities.
The case comes amid heightened attention to the security of Jewish communities in Britain, particularly around places of worship and community facilities. Police continue to assess information and potential threats as part of their wider counter-terrorism work.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report information that could assist ongoing investigations.
The two defendants will now face the judicial process as investigators continue examining the evidence behind the allegations.
