India and the Maldives took another step toward strengthening their strategic partnership as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hosted his Maldivian counterpart, Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, for bilateral talks in New Delhi on Wednesday. In response to a formal request from the Maldives, India transferred essential defence equipment and stores to the island nation during the meeting.
