Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing the Assembly on Wednesday, emphasized the immense spiritual and cultural significance of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. He condemned the spread of misinformation against Sanatan Dharma, Maa Ganga, and India, stating that such false narratives hurt the faith of millions of devotees.

Over 56 Crore Devotees Take the Holy Dip

During his address, CM Yogi highlighted the massive participation in the Maha Kumbh, revealing that more than 56.25 crore devotees had already taken a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Sangam. He pointed out that the grandeur of the event was a testament to the unwavering faith of the people in Sanatan Dharma and India’s rich spiritual heritage.

“While we are discussing this here, more than 56.25 crore devotees have already taken their holy dip in Prayagraj. Spreading fake narratives against Sanatan Dharma, Maa Ganga, or the Maha Kumbh is like attacking the faith of these millions of people,” he stated.

Maha Kumbh: A Festival of Society, Not Politics

CM Yogi strongly dismissed claims that any particular political party or organization was responsible for organizing the Maha Kumbh. He stressed that the event belonged to society at large and that the government’s role was only to ensure smooth execution and provide necessary facilities.

“Any particular party or organization does not organize this grand event. It is a festival of the people, and the government functions only as a facilitator to fulfill its responsibilities. It is our privilege that our government has had the opportunity to contribute to the Maha Kumbh of this century,” he affirmed.

A Global Event of Faith and Unity

The Chief Minister also highlighted the worldwide participation in the Maha Kumbh, emphasizing that despite false narratives, the event had gained global recognition. He expressed pride in how the devotees and saints from across the world had come together to make this grand religious gathering a success.

“The nation and the world have come together for this divine event, taking it to new heights of success. Despite false propaganda, the Maha Kumbh has become a symbol of India’s spiritual and cultural strength,” he said.

Condemning False Narratives Against Sanatan Dharma

CM Yogi condemned the malicious attempts to spread fake news and misinformation against Sanatan Dharma and Indian traditions. He warned that such actions were not only baseless but also an insult to the faith of millions who revere the holy river Ganga and the traditions associated with the Maha Kumbh.

“Attacking Sanatan Dharma and spreading fake videos or baseless allegations against our sacred traditions is nothing but an attempt to weaken India’s cultural foundation. Such misinformation campaigns will not succeed because the faith of the people is unshakable,” he stated.

Conclusion

The Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj continues to be a monumental religious event, drawing devotees from across the world. Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has played a significant role in facilitating the smooth execution of this spiritual gathering. His strong stand against misinformation and his emphasis on the collective ownership of the event highlight the deep cultural roots and unity that the Maha Kumbh represents.
