12-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Assaulted on Train: Authorities Launch Swift Investigation

Hyderabad (Telangana), April 5 – In a deeply disturbing incident, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a co-passenger inside a washroom on board the Raxaul-Secunderabad Express. The incident reportedly occurred during the train’s journey from Jharsuguda to Secunderabad in the early hours of Thursday near Keljar Railway Station.

According to officials from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the accused not only committed the assault but also allegedly filmed the act using his mobile phone. The shocking nature of the crime triggered immediate action from authorities.

The complaint was first lodged at the Kachiguda Railway Police Station after the victim’s father reported the matter. However, since the incident took place outside the jurisdiction of the local police, the case was transferred to the RPF unit in Itwari, Maharashtra, for further investigation.

As per the complaint, the victim and her family initially had reservations in separate coaches. However, after requesting assistance from the train’s Ticket Inspector, they were able to secure berths in the same coach. The alleged assault took place shortly thereafter when the minor girl visited the washroom.

The young girl informed her mother about the incident the following morning. Acting promptly, authorities apprehended the accused and seized his mobile phone. Upon examination, the phone reportedly contained images and videos related to the assault, further intensifying the seriousness of the charges.

Officials have assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the evidence.

This case has once again raised concerns about the safety of passengers, especially women and minors, on long-distance trains. Railway officials have urged passengers to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
