As of August 1, 2025, global wealth rankings reveal a powerful blend of tech innovation, legacy business empires, and next-gen entrepreneurship. According to Forbes, the current list of the 20 richest individuals showcases a heavy concentration of American tech moguls, with Elon Musk once again claiming the top spot.

Musk, known for his ambitious ventures like Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), leads the list with a staggering net worth of $399.3 billion. Following closely is Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, who has seen massive gains this year, reaching $291.4 billion. Social media magnate Mark Zuckerberg, powered by Meta’s resurgence and AI advancements, ranks third at $259.9 billion.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Google co-founder Larry Page round out the top five, with fortunes of $229.8 billion and $155.5 billion, respectively.

A noteworthy presence this year is Jensen Huang of NVIDIA, now sixth on the list with $152.1 billion, riding the AI chip boom. Other familiar names include Sergey Brin, Steve Ballmer, and Warren Buffett.

International billionaires also make a mark. Bernard Arnault of France, head of the luxury giant LVMH, sits at number 9. Spain’s fashion tycoon Amancio Ortega, India’s Mukesh Ambani, and Mexico’s Carlos Slim Helú represent global industry leadership beyond the tech world.

Notably, Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, heiress to the L’Oréal fortune, remains the richest woman globally, holding the 20th spot with $89.8 billion.

This list reflects not just wealth but global economic trends — from AI and digital commerce to luxury goods and family legacies.
