President Zelenskyy Visits Zaporizhzhia Region, Vows Stronger Protection for Ukraine Amid Ongoing Russian Attacks
Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spent the entire day in the Zaporizhzhia region, reaffirming his government’s commitment to defending the nation and ensuring safety for all Ukrainians as Russian forces continue their relentless assaults.
In a message following his visit, President Zelenskyy highlighted the ongoing hardships faced by civilians in areas close to the front lines. “The Russians want to do everything to make life unbearable for Ukraine,” he said. “We are doing everything to ensure protection for our state and all Ukrainians.”
During his trip, Zelenskyy met with local officials, military commanders, and emergency response teams to assess the security situation and review defense measures in the region, which has remained one of the most heavily targeted zones in southern Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
The President expressed deep gratitude to Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers for their courage and unwavering defense of the nation. “Thank you to everyone who helps! Thank you to all who defend Ukraine!” Zelenskyy said, emphasizing national unity and resilience as key to overcoming the challenges posed by Russia’s ongoing aggression.
Zaporizhzhia, home to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, has been a flashpoint throughout the war, with repeated Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and civilian areas raising international concerns. Despite the constant threats, Ukrainian forces continue to reinforce defensive positions and strengthen humanitarian assistance for affected residents.
Zelenskyy’s visit comes as Ukraine intensifies efforts to fortify its defensive lines and expand international cooperation for military and economic support. His message once again underscored Ukraine’s determination to withstand Russia’s pressure and protect its sovereignty.
