Odisha Government Suspends Kantamal BDO Sami Reddy Jayshree
Boudh, November The Odisha Government has suspended Sami Reddy Jayshree, OAS-A (JB), Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kantamal Block in Boudh district, with immediate effect.

The suspension order was issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department through Office Order No. RDM-DP-PM-0026-2026-45217/R(CS). The government has initiated the action under Rule 12(1)(a) of the Odisha Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962, stating that departmental proceedings against the officer are contemplated.
As per the order, Jayshree’s headquarters during the suspension period will remain at the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) in Sambalpur. She cannot leave the headquarters without prior permission from the RDC (Northern Division). She will be entitled to a subsistence allowance under Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code.
The Boudh Collector has been directed to immediately serve the suspension order on the officer and return the second copy with her dated acknowledgement. The Collector has also been instructed to prepare and submit draft charges, a memorandum of evidence and relevant supporting documents for further departmental proceedings.
The development comes after the earlier suspension of Saroj Kumar Mahakud, ADEO of Khatkhatia Gram Panchayat under Kantamal Block, over allegations of uploading fake photographs under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
The suspension of the BDO has triggered discussions across Kantamal Block, particularly in view of the earlier action against the ADEO.
